Booking and Cancellation Policy
The following policies are separated by activity: Pop-up Marine Biology Class, Tidepool Class or Hosted Trip
Pop-Up Marine Biology Classes and Tidepool Classes Policy
Booking Policy
Payment of the full price of the invoice secures your spot in the class.
If the class is full, you will receive a full refund and the option to remain on the waitlist.
Once payment is made and your spot is secured, you will receive a follow-up email with additional information (i.e.: specific meet up spot, what to bring, etc.).
Cancellation Policy
Part of securing a spot in one of our classes is your agreement to our Cancellation Policy.
All payments made to Shakra Dive are non-refundable.
In the event that you need to cancel your registration, the following fee structure applies for Pop-Up Marine Biology Classes:
1 week + prior to class start date: 100% refund
No refunds will be issued within 6 days of the class start date. We will do our best to fill your spot. If your spot is filled by another customer, we will offer a 75% refund for logistics and planning, but this is not guaranteed.
If you need to miss a class: As spaces in our classes are limited, we cannot offer refunds for missed classes. However, we are willing to give credit for the missed class for a future session or date.
In the event that Shakra Dive needs to cancel a class, the class will be refunded 100%.
Hosted Trips (i.e.: Family Marine Biology Programs) Policy
Booking Policy
Trip fees are paid in 3 installments.
1. Deposit: within 48 hours of receiving the invoice a $300 deposit will secure your family’s spot (regardless of family size).
3. Remaining balance due 90 days before trip start date.
Cancellation Policy
Part of securing a spot in one of our classes is your agreement to our Cancellation Policy.
All payments made to Shakra Dive are non-refundable.
In the event that you need to cancel your registration, the following fee structure applies for Hosted Trips (Family Marine Biology Programs):
· 4 months prior to program start date: 100% full refund
· 2 months (8 weeks) – 4 months prior to program start date: 50% refund
· 1-8 weeks prior to program start date: 25% refund
· No refunds will be issued within 7 days of program start date. In the event that your spot can be filled by another customer, we will offer a 75% refund for logistics and planning, but this is not guaranteed.
In the event that Shakra Dive needs to cancel, the trip will be refunded 100%.
Sharka Dive Participant Agreement
At Sharka Dive, our goal is to create a welcoming, inclusive, and enjoyable environment where everyone feels safe, respected, and supported while learning about and exploring the marine environment.
By participating in a Sharka Dive marine biology program, you agree to:
Treat fellow participants, instructors, staff, volunteers, and members of the public with kindness, courtesy, and respect.
Foster and encourage courtesy, inclusivity, and mutual respect within the group.
Contribute to a positive and welcoming atmosphere where everyone feels comfortable participating.
Follow all safety instructions and program guidelines provided by Sharka Dive staff.
Respect marine life, natural habitats, equipment, and facilities.
Refrain from behavior that is disruptive, intimidating, discriminatory, harassing, or otherwise negatively impacts the experience or safety of others.
Sharka Dive is committed to providing a safe, respectful, and supportive learning environment for everyone. Participants whose behavior compromises the safety, well-being, or enjoyment of the group, or who repeatedly fail to follow program expectations, may be asked to leave the program without a refund at the discretion of Sharka Dive staff.
